How would you describe a successful principal?

A successful principal is able to lead a school to develop individual ideas and students knowledge while embracing diversity and keeping a fun attitude.

  1. A successful principal should be open to the ideas of their faculty, staff, and students. If possible they should embrace new ideas and allow teachers the freedom to explore different methods of teaching and the students the ability to share their thoughts and ideas.

    1. Absolutely! A principal should allow the teachers the freedom to teach how they want to teach.

  2. I think a successful principal is a networker. Someone who knows how to empower colleagues and students to make their own goals become realities. I think it also means being able to work with many different people and incorporate many ways of thinking.

    1. This is a great quality, to be able to respond and incorporate suggestions into a school.

  3. A successful principal keeps the larger picture of education in mind. They mediate the needs of different departments, while keeping in mind the needs of all the students in the school. They allow teachers some autonomy in their classroom and only step in when needed.

    1. I totally agree. What, in your opinion, is the larger picture of education?
